GOPRO
Rebranding project
GOPRO
Rebranding
I was assigned to rebrand GOPRO for a class at ArtCenter College of Design.
Context
GOPRO is a company who makes the world's best versatile cameras and was founded in 2002.They are expanding their business since the environment is changing they want new products to meet customer’s needs in the ever changing landscape.
Problem
When they release diverse product lines with different levels and involved in media platforms. People get lost. What is GOPRO? What does it stand for?
Every brand has a personality, and a big part of personality is visual. Especially in this competitive industry. The current identity system is not able to be used in different contexts. It is not as great as their product.
Solution
15 years later, it is time to rethink what GOPRO is.
GoPro is a company that driven by providing more possibilities and values for users. Now, we do not just go professional. We can do more.
So, we create the iconic and dynamic identity system to make our visual stands out in different context. Simplify the logo by combining the rectangular shape and type of the original logo, and create a contemporary visual language.
Then, we will foster young generation community of 20 to 35 years old since they are the future users. Because, they are the future users who lead the trends. The rest will follow them.
Sponsor professional events. Such as open championship and competitions that have high standards.
Introduce a new platform for sharing feed videos. All the videos will simultaneously upload and share on the platform with location while people are shooting videos with their GOPRO. They will get the latest information and interesting references to the locations from the videos.
Interactive poster will appear at the public place. Interact the big shape from the logo on the touch screen. Each shape has stories behind it. The interactive poster gives people a source of information and amusement as they explore videos of local experiences.
( Without people stand at the front of the screen. )
